I've been really busy getting a new blogsite together, with options for pull-down menu's, galleries, etc.. I know it is possible to do it in blogger too but I really could not figure it out. Please come visit my new blog and let me know what you think. It is definitely still a work in progress. It is http://www.greenwatermelonphotography.com/
I'm still keeping this one but probably won't be over here as much. :(

Precious Twins
What an honor it was to photograph these beautiful 3 month old twins and their parents. Those first few months of life are incredibly special and it was so obvious how much mom and dad adore and enjoy their sweet little girls. The way the girls would look right back up at mom and dad just melted my heart! A truly beautiful family both inside and out. Here are a few more to share...
She is so very content here in dad's arms with the sun shining down on her face!

Could that face be any cuter? No way!!
Such a good looking family!

I love how real this one is. It makes me miss those days of snuggling in bed with my own tiny babes, those days just go way too fast and are so easy to forget. In this case, they are lounging with both a fussing and sleeping baby at the same time, how cool is that!

Baby Girls!
Today I got to photograph babies..really really cute babies! Two little twin girls and I am completely smitten with them. I told mom and dad I would have a blog post up in a few days but after working on these I feel like posting my two favorite black and whites right now. I will post more of these little beauties later..but here is just two...

A great way to spend the morning before Christmas
This cute family was a lot of fun to hang out with on the morning of Christmas Eve. A few of them were visiting from another state and I was so glad we were able to arrange a time with both my own and their busy holiday visiting schedules. It was a bit torturous for me to let these images sit on my computer for over a week before I could even get started since our guest room also happens to be where my computer is..and we had guests sleeping there. I'm so happy to share now that I finally got my hands on them! Let's get to it, thank you for being so patient and I had a great time!
You could tell these cousins have a lot of fun together.

This sweet little guy was a little hesitant to get his picture taken but always had a smile when he was in his daddy's arms..I love how he's holding his dad's thumbs here.

The last post of the year
I wanted to get one more blog post in before the end of the year. I still have much to do before Christmas but I am really looking forward to the holiday, the time off with my husband, and especially a week long visit from family. My husband comes from a very large family, he has 9 brothers and sisters who all live in the Chicago area (except for him). That means my kids have over 20 cousins who live close to each other and see each other pretty regularly. I sometimes feel so terrible that they are missing out on having all of that family nearby. We try to make it out there at least every year but it just didn't happen in 2010. It really is awesome that my husband's brother and wife and their 2 kids (age 6 and 3) are coming to visit and I hope we can show them a good time in the bay area.
He chose waffles with strawberries and whip cream for his birthday dinner.
After the new year passes I have a lot to figure out about this photography thing. Do I want to turn this hobby I love into a business? The portfolio building I have been doing has been exciting and a challenge for me. I have 2 more shoots coming up in the next few weeks that I'm really looking forward to. Am I ready to get a LLC (not just hobby income anymore)? Can I put together a website, a "professional" blog, a facebook page, and all of the other hundreds of things I probably haven't thought about yet to have a business? Can I keep it true to who I am and what appeals to me artistically? Will I be ready in 2011? Will my technical skills be up to par? Only time will tell for sure, but as I've opened a few holiday cards and seen photos I took inside it has made me incredibly happy indeed.
I was thinking of using my groupon for Canvas on Demand to put this (below) on canvas. I wanted one of them together as it will be my first canvas. What do you think, is it canvasworthy?

As we get closer to christmas my kids are ridiculously excited. I mean bouncing off the walls and giggling over nothing excited. I love how much they love christmas this year. I've been asking all of my friends with slightly older kids if they still believe in santa. I've been happy to find out that apparently most 7 and 8 year olds are still rollin' with Santa. I hope we can keep our kiddos believing for a long time.
Letters to Santa. They look a little funky at the bottom because I did clone out their names as I have chosen to keep my kids names off the blog. We dropped these letters in a local "Santa's mailbox" and actually got a letter back from Santa himself.
Waddles
Goodbye 2010! Truly wishing all of you a very happy and healthy holidays and New Year with an
abundance of Love, Peace and Joy!

The fabulous O family...and rain.
We had been trying to schedule this photosession for quite awhile and we finally had a plan last weekend. Then it started to rain, a lot of rain. I woke up thinking our 8AM session would probably need to be cancelled. After a couple of early morning phone conversations we decided to just go for it and see what happens.
The plan was to meet downtown for a few shots in my favorite alley and parking lot then soon head up to the park. It didn't quite work out that way. We did get some shots in but we were basically being rained on most of the time and never made it up to the park. The whole family were big-time troopers.
The kids were running around just having fun and being goofy, they didn't seem to mind being a bit cold and wet at all. These 3 kiddos are seriously adorable and you can really see the love and connection they have with each other.
Here's a few of my favorite images before the rain finally sent us indoors for good.

Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Update..December 1. I'm just adding a few more from the make-up session we did. It was a frosty morning and everyone was cold so we made it fast. We focussed on family photos so they could hopefully get that holiday picture. Here's just a few from that one. I really love how mom coordinated the outfits and her boots rock!
